Last Minute Minibus Spaces [16 Jun 2006|05:40pm]

Hi, sorry for the spammage, but I thought I may as well try here......

I have a 9-seater minibus travelling from Portsmouth to London tonight for an alternative nightclub called Synthetic Culture, and tomorrow night the same bus will be going up to Nottingham Rock City. Some people have let me down at the last minute and I now have 4 spaces for tonights trip and 3 spaces for tomorrow night.

I'm only asking for petrol money (£15 tonight / £20 tomorrow which includes club entry).

If you'd like to come along from Portsmouth, Southampton, or anywhere reasonably nearby/en-route then please give me a shout here.

The bus leaves tonight at 8:15pm, picking up in Southampton from The Hobbit at 9pm.

The Devil's Music [01 May 2006|01:02pm]

The Devil's Music

by Finlo Rohrer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . BBC News Magazine

The Devil is said to have the best tunes, but what do they sound like? A new film about the history of heavy metal highlights the so-called Devil's Interval, a musical phenomenon suppressed by the Church in the Middle Ages.
Black Sabbath, Wagner's Gotterdammerung, West Side Story and the theme tune to the Simpsons???Collapse )

Metal: A Headbanger's Journey is in cinemas from Friday, 28 April.

Does anyone know of anywhere actually showing this film? I live in Portsmouth and want to see this movie but I've just checked a load of cinema websites and can't find anywhere that's showing this. Anyone seen it advertised anywhere?

Venue / Promoter Plea [08 Feb 2006|02:18pm]

Venue / Promoter Plea

Hi Guys

How are you today?
I have a bit of a plea for some information if anyone has any....

My band that i manage - IVY'S ITCH are beginning to tour over the country to coincide with the release of their new EP ' Roses'
were looking to get them on the road any time between Now and March mainly but obviously any time after that also.

Areas that we are aiming at right now are:

basically so that instead of just doing one gig - they can take a few days off and do a few gigs in these areas around the dates available.
More gigs the merrier!

So, can you help? I need emails / phone numbers of local promoters who put bands on, pubs, clubs, any unsigned bands nights, universities who might have rock/ indie nights, renovated churches, you name it - we'll try it!!

So please drop me a mail on info@devolutionmagazine.co.uk

I can direct you to free samples of their songs, email you biogs and please visit the links below to find out more about this amazing band!

Also, if you happen to be a promoter who puts on gigs ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY who might like to book the band - please get in touch also as i would love to hear from you!!

Wicked Boy Promotions Gig @ The Face Bar, Reading [01 Feb 2006|10:14am]

[ mood | productive ]

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know about the gig @ The Face Bar in Reading on 25th February

The lineup is:

The Enigma Project
'With upbeat drums, tremelo guitars, epic strings, dirty basslines. They sound like a cross between Placebo, Sigur Ros and Radiohead'

The Big Sleep
'Creating huge, lush, texural soundscapes you could lump The Big Sleep in with the likes of Pelican, Godspeed! or Explosions In The Sky'

Theory of Dreams
'Stompy metal feel with dreamy psycadellic breaks and wacky DnB-like drumming...think Incubus, Deftones, Led Zeppelin, Pink floyd'

Remember Tomorrow
'Playing heavy yet melodic metal/rock. A band with energy and passion for the music they are playing'

Go here for a flyer

Need a map go here

This is an 16+ gig so bring ID, and the doors open at 8.00pm

Come down and see what all the fuss is about....See you at the gig!
